team atelier

Atelier integrates quality education, intentional programming, and a genuine sense of community. Our focus is constant evolution: introducing new concepts and setting a new benchmark for movement experiences.

Caryn Chappell

When teaching Reformer Pilates classes, mindfulness and body awareness are top of mind! Caryn wants you to explore Pilates for its power and its subtleties, for its challenging movements and that feel-good elongation. Pilates is filled with opposition, and her goal is to share that with you while continuing to learn alongside you.

Caryn grew up dancing and moved to Toronto to pursue dance as a career. She performed professionally with various companies and loved her time both in the studio and onstage. She found Pilates and immediately felt at home. She wanted to learn more, so she completed her training at Mindful Movement Centre.

Alexa xavier

Alexa began her journey as a Pilates instructor in 2018 after falling in love with the practice. Over the years she has refined her teaching to focus on human biomechanics and functional strength. Alexa’s classes encourage you to take your time, to really tune in, and to give everything a try.

She hopes to share a greater understanding of how your body moves, how your breath works, and how you can better support yourself to build strength from the inside out.

Olivia Armstrong

Olivia’s Pilates teaching practice began in 2023 after using Pilates as a form of cross training to support her professional dance career. Since then, Olivia has fallen in love with all that Pilates has to offer. She believes that movement is for everyone and every body, and wants to help people move functionally throughout their world. You can expect to move mindfully in Olivia’s classes, all while breaking a sweat and sharing a giggle or two. Olivia structures her classes with a “choose your own journey” approach - building onto each exercise with multiple layers to modify or challenge.

O’Shani Cardwell

O’Shani Cardwell is a Toronto-based Pilates instructor, movement educator, and professional dancer with over 10 years of experience in teaching and performance. With roots in hip-hop and funk, O’Shani brings a unique understanding of body awareness, musicality, and movement into their Pilates practice.

Their teaching style is intentional, accessible, and encouraging, balancing challenge with choice so clients can explore movement in a way that feels right for their bodies.

Drawing on their background in dance and education, O’Shani is passionate about helping people deepen their connection to their bodies, move with greater awareness, and build a sustainable movement practice that supports them both in and out of the studio.

Alwynn Taylor

The long way around.

I got my first certification in 2013. I didn’t know then what i know now—which is kind of the point. What I thought teaching was at the beginning and what I know it to be now are two very different things.  The gap between those two versions is where all the real work happened.

Honing takes time. It takes repetition, humility, and the willingness to sit with the uncomfortable truth that what you learned yesterday might not be the whole picture. Some of the most important work I’ve done as a teacher has been the unlearning — letting go of the rigid, the prescribed, the “this is just how it’s done.” making room for something more considered.

I’m still doing that. I’m still a student.  I think that’s what keeps teaching honest.

Tmotion was built on that restlessness. On the belief that good teaching is a practice, not a credential. That the standard should keep rising, not plateau. One of the things I’m most excited about with the Atelier is genuinely the team. A small, intentional group of teachers who care about the work; who want to learn, question, grow and get better together.

That’s the culture I’m building. It’s been eleven years in the making.

The work never stops.
